Welcome to the home page of Victory Baptist Church in Pierre Part, Louisiana. We trust your experience here is a beneficial one and edifying spiritually. Victory Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church with an emphasis on the truth of God's word. The worship service is focused on the Bible and its instruction. We sing the old hymns which focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and build up the believer. We do not attempt to entertain but instruct the believer in the scripture. You will find recorded sermons on the "Sermon Page" which are examples of the teaching/preaching ministry of the church.  You will also find articles that will help you in specific areas located in the "Resources Page." Please take time to read these articles. There is a tremendous amount of confusion today concerning doctrine and these articles are designed to dispel some of the errors prevalent today. In addition you may be interested in the "Study Bible" page. There you will find information about the Rock of Ages Study Bible and how to purchase this Bible.  Thank you for visiting our web site. We trust the Lord will bless you richly.

Thought for the Day

IF THE WALLS COULD TALK
Have you ever heard the statement "If the walls could talk?" This is usually stated when something is not known and it would be interesting to know the truth about an event which happened. This has been stated by crime investigators who cannot find the evidence they know should be present to convict a person for a crime. It has been stated by historians who would like to know a few more facts about something they are studying and would like to have just a bit more information. It has been stated by parents who know their child has been engaged in some forbidden activities but just cannot find the truth. We could give more illustrations but I think you get the idea. Has it ever occurred to you that there is evidence that things we consider inanimate can bring evidence that can be incriminating? Listen to Habakkuk 2:11, "For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it." Who said the walls cannot talk? This verse is about a person who has taken things for himself in a dishonest way and has set themselves up on high thinking they are beyond exposure to their real motives. There are several times in the Bible where things we think are just "dumb" like a rock will give evidence against us. We must understand that we never escape the watchful eye of God. Cain thought he had gotten away with the perfect murder but God told him that "...the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground" (Gen. 4:10). Joshua challenged the people of Israel to serve the Lord as he and his house (Joshua 24:15). The people responded by saying, "God forbid that we should forsake the Lord, to serve other gods" (Joshua 24:16).  Joshua then tells them that the stone (evidently one that was nearby) would be a witness against them in Joshua 24:27. Can the "stones" talk? Evidently they can because Jesus told the religious people who wanted the people to be quiet who were praising God and laying palm branches in the street when Jesus made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. His reply to them was that if the people remain silent the "stones would immediately cry out" (Luke 19:40). Job said that the "furrows" of the plowed field would cry against him (Job 31:38). James tells the rich that their gold and silver will be a witness against them in the last days (James 5:3-4). The lesson is that we need to remember that God watches everything we do (Prov. 5:21 cf. 2Chron. 16:9). We must also remember that God sees all and has witnesses that can testify against us. Yes, the "Walls can talk."
